- The city fell to Xu Da on 17 March 1356.
- Ming commander Xu Da ordered the army to set up a blockade.
- In August 1368 General Xu Da of the Ming Dynasty captured the city.
- Xu Da died in 1385 under mysterious circumstances.
- The first garden on this site was built during the early Ming dynasty by the general Xu Da.
- The most notable service was an overwhelming desert victory over a Ming army led by Xu Da in 1372.
- General Fu Youde came to Beiping in 1385 to take over the military command left vacant by the death of Xu Da.
- Xu Da's presence struck fear into the Korean generals, who in turn, allied themselves with the Ming forces instead.
- When K鰇e Tem黵 lost battles against the Ming general Xu Da and Ming troops approached Hebei, Toghon Tem黵 gave up Khanbaliq and fled to his summer base, Shangdu.
- But in a further encounter against Xu Da in Gansu, K鰇e Tem黵's army was badly mauled by the Chinese and forced to flee across the Gobi desert.
